Pierce Chapel Preschool is a Christian preschool for children ages 1-4 (must be 1 by September 1st of the school year).

Our Purpose

The purpose of Pierce Chapel Preschool is to nurture the whole child by encouraging the child’s physical, emotional, cognitive, and spiritual growth. Through providing a safe and loving place for children, we want to help all of our children reach their potential and help them feel secure in the knowledge that God loves them.

Our Classes

All classes have a lead teacher as well as a teacher’s aide, and run from 9:00 to 12:00. We offer classes for 1, 2, 3, and 4 year olds.

We offer:

• 2-day classes for one-year olds - M & W or T & TH
• 3-day classes for two- & three-year-olds - T, W & TH
• 5-day classes for three- & four-year-olds

Our Curriculum

Our preschool uses “The Creative Curriculum” by Diane Trister Dodge and Laura J. Colker. This is a comprehensive curriculum that is designed specifically for kindergarten readiness. With this as our base, our staff will also draw from a variety of quality educational resources and incorporate basic Christian themes in various learning experiences. Bible stories, Chapel Time, music, learning centers, and “themes of the week” are key parts of our program. We provide a balanced focus on a variety of readiness skills such as reading and writing readiness, beginning math concepts, socialization, and self-help skills.

Our Teaching / Learning Philosophy

We believe that young children learn by doing; therefore, we encourage hands-on, interactive learning that engages all the senses. We find that the children have so much fun that they don’t even realize how much they’re learning in the process!

A Typical Day

• Free play or center play
• Circle Time: including calendar, weather, story time, “theme of the week” discussion, alphabet recognition and sound introduction
• Table Time: using crayons, pencils, paper, scissors, glue, paint, etc. Usually pertaining to the theme or letter of the week
• Snack
• Music and Movement/Chapel Time
• Arts and Crafts
• Closing Circle Time: including discussion, stories, sharing and singing.

The Lunch Bunch

Lunch Bunch is an optional program that is offered on Wednesdays. For a fee of $3.00 children may bring their lunch and have a social time with their friends until 1:00. Reservations are made monthly. You choose which Wednesday(s) you want, and add the fee(s) with your tuition check for that month. Lunch Bunch money is not refundable or transferable.

Tuition and Fees

Annual registration fee: $60.00
Monthly Tuition fee:

• 2-days $115.00
• 3-days $125.00
• 5-days $185.00
• (For the second child in the same family, the annual registration fee is $50.00.)

Monthly tuition payments are due on the 1st of each month, and are considered late after 12:00pm on the 5th.

Summer Program

Pierce Chapel Preschool will again be offering a Summer Program beginning on June 1 for children who are currently enrolled or enrolling for school year 10-11. Your child must be one year old prior to May 1, 2010 thru currently enrolled fours who will be graduating in 2010.

This will be a two day per week program (Tuesday and Thursday 9am-12pm) and will run for six weeks over the summer. Summer will be primarily for fun and play with no set curriculum. You can expect normal Preschool classes and curriculum to resume in the fall. Our excellent Preschool teachers will be teaching, but your child may not have the same teacher each time!

• June 1 & 3
• June 22 & 24
• June 29 & July 1
• July 6 & 8
• July 13 & 15
• July 20 & 22

The cost will be $180.00 for the entire summer. You must register and pay for the entire summer. A registration fee in the amount of $25.00 will be on a first come basis. No portion of the summer fees will be refundable. Registration will be held with regular school year registration. The first payment of $90.00 will be due March 15th and the balance of $90.00 will be due May 3rd.
