Pierce Chapel Preschool is a Christian preschool for children ages 1-4 (must be 1 by September 1st of the school year).

Operating August – May from 9:00 – 12:00

Registration for 2012 - 2013 begins soon!

• Registration will open to currently enrolled and siblings on Wednesday February 22 and continue on Thursday February 23 and Friday February 24 (9-12 in the Chapel all days)
• Registration will open to Church Members not currently enrolled on Sunday Feb. 26 in the preschool Directors office
• Registration will open to the community on Monday Feb. 27 in the Chapel from 9:00am - 11:30am

Please be aware that carpool will operate as usual from 8:50 -9:00. You may drop off your child in the car-line and then come to the front of the Chapel and wait to register. Please form a line beginning at the BOTTOM of the front steps and numbers will be given out beginning at 9:00 in the order in which you are lined up. You will be registered by number. Please park in either of the side parking lots so as to not interfere with carpool. Parking may be easier on the porte-cochere side of the Church.

> The following classes will be available:

• 2-Day a Week Classes for one year olds on either Mondays and Wednesdays or Tuesdays and Thursdays
  Tuition: 120.00 per month
• 3-Day a Week Classes for two and three year olds on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays
  Tuition: 130.00 per month
• 4-Day a Week Classes for two year olds (Monday - Thursday)
  Tuition: 170.00 per month
  
• 5-Day a Week Classes for three and four year olds
  Tuition: 190.00 per month

All classes run 9-12 on their respective days.

Child must be appropriate age on or before Sept. 1, 2012. Registration is on a first come basis. A $60 non-refundable fee is required at this time to hold your child's place in the preschool class.

Our Purpose

The purpose of Pierce Chapel Preschool is to nurture the whole child by encouraging the child’s physical, emotional, cognitive, and spiritual growth. Through providing a safe and loving place for children, we want to help all of our children reach their potential and help them feel secure in the knowledge that God loves them.

Our Classes

All classes have a lead teacher as well as a teacher’s aide, and run from 9:00 to 12:00. We offer classes for 1, 2, 3, and 4 year olds.

We offer:

• 2-day classes for one-year olds - M & W or T & TH
• 3-day classes for two- & three-year-olds - T, W & TH
• 4-day classes for two-year-olds - M, T, W & TH
• 5-day classes for three- & four-year-olds

Our Curriculum

Our preschool uses “The Creative Curriculum” by Diane Trister Dodge and Laura J. Colker. This is a comprehensive curriculum that is designed specifically for kindergarten readiness. With this as our base, our staff will also draw from a variety of quality educational resources and incorporate basic Christian themes in various learning experiences. Bible stories, Chapel Time, music, learning centers, and “themes of the week” are key parts of our program. We provide a balanced focus on a variety of readiness skills such as reading and writing readiness, beginning math concepts, socialization, and self-help skills.

Our Teaching / Learning Philosophy

We believe that young children learn by doing; therefore, we encourage hands-on, interactive learning that engages all the senses. We find that the children have so much fun that they don’t even realize how much they’re learning in the process!

A Typical Day

• Free play or center play
• Circle Time: including calendar, weather, story time, “theme of the week” discussion, alphabet recognition and sound introduction
• Table Time: using crayons, pencils, paper, scissors, glue, paint, etc. Usually pertaining to the theme or letter of the week
• Snack
• Music and Movement/Chapel Time
• Arts and Crafts
• Closing Circle Time: including discussion, stories, sharing and singing.

The Lunch Bunch

Lunch Bunch is an optional program that is offered on Wednesdays. For a fee of $3.00 children may bring their lunch and have a social time with their friends until 1:00. Reservations are made monthly. Lunch Bunch money is not refundable or transferable.

Tuition and Fees

• 2-Day a Week Classes for one year olds on either Mondays and Wednesdays or Tuesdays and Thursdays

• 3-Day a Week Classes for two and three year olds on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays
  Tuition: 130.00 per month
• 4-Day a Week Classes for two year olds (Monday - Thursday)
  Tuition: 170.00 per month
  
• 5-Day a Week Classes for three and four year olds
  Tuition: 190.00 per month
  
• A $60 non-refundable fee is required at this time to hold your child's place in the preschool class.
  
• For the second child in the same family, the annual registration fee is $50.00.
  
• Monthly tuition payments are due on the 1st of each month, and are considered late after 12:00pm on the 5th.

Summer Camp

Pierce Chapel Preschool will be offering a Summer Camp beginning on June 4 for children who are currently enrolled or enrolling for school year 12-13. Your child must be two years old prior to September 1, 2012 thru currently enrolled fours who will be graduating in 2012. This will be a four day per week program (Monday through Thursday 9am-1:00pm) and will run for two non-consecutive weeks (June 4-7 and June 18-21).

Children will bring a packed lunch and drink and have lunch at school daily. Summer will be primarily for fun and play. We will resume our normal Preschool classes and curriculum in the fall. Our excellent Preschool teachers will be teaching, but your child may not have the same teacher each time!

Registration will be on a first come basis. The registration fee of $20.00 is non refundable. Registration numbers will be used to staff the Camp. Minimum of 37 (maximum 45) registrations are needed in order for us to offer the Camp for summer. If we do not have a minimum of 37 children who register, the program will have to be cancelled and monies paid will be refunded.

Summer Camp Dates are as follows:

• Monday - Thursday, June 4 - 7
• Monday - Thursday, June 18 - 21

Summer Camp cost will be $80.00 for one week or $130.00 for both weeks. If you choose the one week option, you will need to specify which week you are registering for. Registering for Summer Camp will be considered your commitment to pay, and no portion of the fee is refundable. Please be certain that you want your child to attend prior to registering! Registration for summer camp will be held with regular school year registration. The first payment of $80.00 will be due March 15th and the balance (if you have chosen the two week option) will be due May 3rd.

The week of June 11th is Pierce Chapel’s Vacation Bible School. VBS is open to children who will be four years old on or before September 1, 2012.
