Financial Peace University (FPU)
First Meeting is Thursday, August 26, 6:30pm - 8:30pm
(This first meeting is FREE, so if you’re undecided about the class,join us on August 26 and make your decision after that.)The Mission of FPU: To empower and give HOPE to everyone from the financially secure to the financially distressed.
FPU is a 13-week class (for couples or singles of all ages) that equips people to manage their resources in a way that is financially responsible & Biblically sound. The class is taught via DVD by well-known national radio personality Dave Ramsey,author of The New York Times best-sellers The Total Money Makeover, Financial Peace, & More Than Enough.
Our Spring 2009 inaugural class at Pierce Chapel yielded 40 graduates (13 couples and 14 singles). During the 13 weeks, those 40 people reduced their total combined debt by $149,725, and 3 class members became totally debt-free! (According to FPU stats, the average family pays off $5,300 and saves $2,700 during the 13 weeks.)
Our next round of FPU will be facilitated by Stephen Childers & Brenda Giefing and will meet Thursdays, 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the worship center, beginning August 26. Membership kit (required to participate) is $100 per family. To sign up, fill out the form found in the bulletin on Sunday and place it in the offering plate. This group reads Christian fiction and meets from 5:30pm to 7:00pm for discussion one Sunday a month, in the home of Barbara Rouse.
