We currently are offering only a 10:00 a.m. Sunday morning virtual worship experience
(called the Lovestream) on Facebook and YouTube, but our goal is to reopen in-person worship on Sunday, February 14. On that day, we hope to again have two limited capacity services at 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. in our Worship Center. (Reservations are required in advance.) Even then, we will continue the 10:00 a.m. LoveStream for those who are not yet ready to get back to the building!
What To Expect
Our Pierce Chapel teams are doing their very best to ensure the health and safety of our church family. We have safety protocols in place, in hopes that you, your family, and your friends will feel safe from the moment you arrive to worship, allowing you to truly encounter God.
Click each icon below to see what worship will look like as we return to the church building.
Here is what to expect as we return to in-person worship at Pierce Chapel:
Registration for each service is required to ensure an appropriate number of people can remain socially distanced during worship.
You’ll be greeted with a smile behind a mask when you enter the building. Each person will have a wellness screening (more details below). We will answer any questions you may have and guide you into the Worship Center for our worship experience.
One of our team members will be ready to receive you and guide you to your seats in the Worship Center. Please remember, social distancing guidelines are in place for everyone, whether outside of the building or inside.
In an effort to maintain a touch-free experience, high-traffic doors will be propped open, no handouts will be given, and tithes and offerings may be given digitally, or dropped in a basket at the door.
Please click the service below that you would like to attend. If you have any questions or need assistance, please call (706) 327-9807, ext. 1.
Registration will be open from 9:00 am Monday until 6:00 pm Friday, prior to each Sunday service.
We want you to know that our LoveStream Family is just as special to us, and we are going to continue worshiping with you online. If you are high-risk, live with loved ones who are high-risk, or just not yet ready to return to the building, we welcome you to join us every Sunday at 10:00 am on Facebook & YouTube LIVE. More information and a collection of streaming since March 2020 can be found at piercechapel.com/live-stream-worship.
Pierce Chapel Safety Guidelines
In order to maintain as safe an environment as possible, the following are expectations of those joining us for in-person worship at Pierce Chapel UMC:
Each person will have their temperature screened prior to entering the building (temperature must be under 100 degrees). If you are unwell or have any COVID-19 symptoms, please stay home and join us online! We look forward to having you back when you are feeling better. (Visit piercechapel.com/livestream-worship for more information.)
We know you are excited to see your church family! Air hugs, hand waves, and air-fist-bumps are great way to show love for all the people we know you have missed! Please remember, you learned everything you needed to know in Kindergarten... let's keep our hands, feet, and all objects to ourselves!
Please remember, social distancing guidelines are in place for everyone entering the Worship Center. (Those living in the same household may of course stand or sit less than 6 feet from one another, otherwise, appropriate social distancing - 6 feet apart or more - must be maintained within or outside the building.)
Families with Children
Children in Pre-K through 5th grade have the option to participate in Playground Praise during the 8:30 and 11:00 services. This is a supervised time on the church playground, beginning after the Children's Sermon, weather permitting. Please dress children appropriately for outdoor play and bring a water bottle. Masks are required. In the event of rain, children will remain in the Worship Center with fun activity bags.
Parents will need to complete a one-time COVID-19 Acknowledgment Form upon the first attendance. Forms will be available on Sunday morning. Unfortunately, we are not able to offer nursery for younger children at this time, but all ages are welcome in our worship services. For more information, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
How Can You Help?
Wear your mask properly, covering both the mouth and nose at all times while anywhere on church property (yes, masks are required).
BYO: Bring Your Own...stuff! Do not share resources such as pens, papers, books, etc.
For now, do not shake hands or bump elbows. Avoid surfaces touched by multiple people. Avoid touching your face.
Use provided hand sanitizer frequently.
Limit restrooms to one person at a time (or one parent/child at a time). Please check before you enter and wait 6’ away from entrance if occupied.
We are so excited you are here and welcome you back home! Building access is limited, so please do not go in any part of the building except where directed by staff or volunteers.
